CJ7

Went out to watch this movie from the same director that gave us Kung Fu Hustle, a movie which I’ve seen three times and still find absolutely hilarious.

CJ7 carries the similar style of comedy as Steven Chow’s previous blockbusters hits. I found this movie a lot funnier than his previous films, in fact it was so funny my flabby abs are still hurting from all that laughing this afternoon.

This was the scene that got me laughing myself into a coughing fit in the cinema

It’s not all comedy though. The movie has it’s fair share of touching moments – especially the scenes of how the father sacrifices so much to give his son the best despite living in poverty. In fact, there were a few scenes that got the person who was with me sniffing away silently
Tapi aku pun sama jugak…

Xu Jiau plays the main character in this movie and is an amazing talent especially for someone with no previous film experience and who was only discovered during the auditions for this movie. And by the way – Xu Jiau is a SHE, a fact I only found out this evening.
Go watch this one, it’s definitely worth it. I give this movie a 8.5/10.
